NORTH COAST – FULL DAY

The full day guided tour begins and ends at your hotel. You leave after breakfast and head North towards Ras Nungwi, the most northerly part of the island. There are interesting ruins dating from Portuguese (Barracks) times in the area. Those at Mvuleni are the best known. At Ras Nungwi there is a lighthouse and the village nearby is an important fishing centre; the white sandy beaches is said to be excellent for Bathing, swimming, deep-sea fishing diving etc. You shall also visit a place where the Traditional Wooden Jahazi Dhow Boats are built or under construction.Lunch Direct PaymentAfternoon at leisure – swim, sunbathe, snorkel. Return to your hotel around 18h00. Advisable:i) Swim wear, towel and water resis¬tant shoes for walking over coral.ii) Water resistant bag for cameras and other valuables.iii) Sunscreen and Hat.

DUNGA & ZANZIBAR BIKHOLE RUINS

The full day guided Tour begins and ends at your hotel. You leave after breakfast and head East of the Island where history nature and unspoiled environment blends with each other. Dunga Palace Ruins which is found in the area, took 10years to construct – between 1845 – 1856 - by a great African Lord named Mwinyi Mkuu, the last of a long dynasty of Chiefs of Shirazian descent who ruled Zanzibar before the coming of Omani Arabs in the early 18 century. You proceed and head to Uroa or Pingwe where you stop for a swim, sunbathe or even snorkel in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean. Lunch in one of the hotels in the area. Afternoon at leisure – swim, sunbathe, snorkel. Return to your hotel around 18h00.

POMBOO (DOLPHIN)-FULL DAY

The full day guided tour begins and ends at your hotel. You leave after breakfast and drive to southeast coast to Kizimkazi Village. Visit some historical and heritage sites like The Old Mosque and Graves of Sherifs (Religious Spiritual Imams).After lunch return and drive to the home of “Red Colobus” Monkeys at Jozani Forest. The forest has now been declared a reserve and holds the rare and Red Colobus Monkeys not to be seen anywhere else in the world. Continue to the Mangrove Forest and discover how the locals try to keep the environment clean and habitable. PRINCESS SALME TOUR ½ DAYS

Princess Salme - Rebel, outcast, revolutionary? Salme sent shockwaves through Zanzibar, teaching herself to write, conspiring in a plot to overthrow her brother, becoming pregnant and eloping to Germany with a young merchant, and writing the sensational Memoirs of an Arabian Princess. This tour takes you to Mtoni Palace, where Salme was born in 1844, the daughter of Sultan Said and one of his secondary wives. You’ll then head to Marahubi Palace, built by Sultan Barghash, Salme’s older brother, who she helped to escape after a failed attempt to overthrow their brother, Sultan Majid. From here, you’ll travel to Stone Town, where the princess lived in relative exile, unmarried and shunned by her family for her role in the intrigue. The Palace Museum has a room dedicated to Salme’s life and writings. Your guide will take you to her house, where her romance with Heinrich Ruete began across the balconies, resulting in secret trysts and meetings in the countryside. The tour ends at the Gallery Bookshop.

FREDDIE MERCURY TOUR

Walk the streets of Stone Town and follow in the footsteps of Zanzibar’s most famous son, Freddie Mercury. Lead singer of the rock band Queen, skilled musician, and flamboyant showman and also a Zanzibari. Wander through Shangani where Freddie Mercury was born and lived with his family. Your guide will take you to the Zanzibar Gallery shop, once home to Mercury’s family where you’ll receive a Freddie Mercury tshirt. From here, you’ll head to the mystical Zoroastrian temple, where Mercury worshipped with his family. You’ll end the day with a seafront lunch at Mercury’s restaurant, a modern day tribute to the man and the music.

SWAHILI CULTURE TOUR-FULL DAY

Coconut Palms, Thatching, Baskets, Weaving, Pottery, Grinding Millets, Rice, Coconut Rope Making, Coconut Palm Climbing, Local Cuisine Cooking, Zanzibar Aroma and Incense, Construction of Local muddy Homes, Bread Making, Spices, Banana Plantations, Seasonal Fruits, Local Koranic Schools, etc. The full day guided tour begins and ends at your hotel. You leave after breakfast and head towards west of Zanzibar to KIZIMBANI Village. The elders of the village will welcome you to have a true Arabic coffee served from the original brass coffeepot. Here you will be able to capitalize on the village life while walking through the local homes and farms.A visit to Koranic school is part of this tour, where boys and girls are taught in separate areas. You proceed to the last stop to be welcomed by drumbeats where guests are requested to participate in the local dances. Refreshments and local cuisine will be served under a Mango Tree. Return to your hotel late in the afternoon.
